No-Dairy Diet - Overcoming The Dangers Of Dairy Products

According to a popular Western belief, dairy products are excluded from the diets of people in most parts of the world. Americans, who include a lot of diary products in their diet, wonder if there is something about dairy products that others know and they don’t.

Diary products are not essential to the maintenance of good health. According to pH miracle diet, it is harmful for the body, which is why it omits acidifying food, such as dairy products, from its list of acceptable foods. By doing so, it prevents obesity and the medical disorders that obesity brings with it.

Dangers of Dairy Products

A number of people strongly believe that taking dairy products, including milk, strengthens bones and improves health. In fact, dairy products comprise a large quantity of fat and protein, which produce enormous quantities of acid within the body. Cows milk is more acid forming than goat’s milk, which has lesser quantities of fat and protein. Among dairy products, clarified butter is the only item that does not produce acids thanks to the short chain of fats that it comprises.

Moreover, dairy food is not pure. The dairy industry, in order to make a profit, has created an image of milk as not only safe, but also essential for the maintenance of health. The average cow of fifty years ago could produce 2,000 pounds of milk annually. The average cow of today, on the contrary, produces 50,000 pounds of milk annually. Consider the amount of drugs, hormones, antibiotics, forced feeding, and specialized breeding that is responsible for such mass production of milk. Also consider the fact that all these additives enter your body whenever you drink milk.

Dairy Products in FDA and Harvard Food Pyramids

In 2003, the Harvard School of Public Health modified the FDA food pyramid on the basis of certain imbalances noticed by the the users of the FDA food pyramid. The FDA food pyramid reflects a preference to alkaline foods although it doesn’t specifically make a mention of alkaline and acidic foods. The Harvard pyramid includes a single serving of dairy foods or a calcium supplement daily. The FDA pyramid, on the other hand, recommends two to three servings per day, along with supplements.

Dr. Meir Stampfer, professor of Epidemiology and Nutrition and chair of the Department of Epidemiology at the Harvard School of Public Health, explains the Harvard pyramid by saying that Americans should eat less dairy products. Calcium is essential for the maintenance of good health; but a supplement, according to Dr. Stampfer, is more than enough to satisfy the body’s needs for calcium and to develop strong bones.

The level of calcium in two to three servings of diary food, as recommended by the FDA food pyramid, can actually cause harm to the body. In addition, taking too much of calcium could increase the risk of cancer, and science has not yet discovered any link between calcium intake and prevention of osteoporosis.

Recent studies have linked milk to disorders such as intestinal colic, anemia, allergies, intestinal irritation, and many such disorders in babies and toddlers. Milk-drinking children usually suffer from allergies, asthma, tonsils, diabetes, and colic. According to studies on the subject, conventionally produced milk results in coronary disorders, allergies, arthritis, and sinusitis in adults.

A large number of Americans have deleted milk from their list of acceptable foods and claim that the results are excellent. Make a study of the dangers of dairy food, and see if it does not change your opinion of milk as “safe and healthy.” You will realize that many people have excluded it from their diets due to the acid-producing quality of dairy foods, including milk.

Help answer the question about dairy products

Can a person find pasturized dairy products in Europe?
I know in Europe that they don't pasturize milk, preferring to utilize milk in it's most natural state. Can Americans who are accostumed to drinking pasturized milk and eating products made from pas milk find such items if they live or are visiting Europe?
Does the US import pasturized milk and dairy products to Europe. I know that in for European countries to export their dairy products to our country, they have to be pasturized to meet USFDA standards. Is that true in the opposite direction?
This question wasn't meant to offend any European citizens. I watch many travel shows in which the hosts travel throughout the continent. I remember hearing a cooking show host say that typically dairy products aren't pasteurized because Europeans prefer the natural taste of milk and cheese made from unpasteurized milk.

Most soy varieties of common dairy products have the same nutrients that traditional dairy products have. As long as you don't have an issue with the taste, you should have no problem switching.

You need dairy in your diet because it is full of calcium, and the calcium is need to help break down fat. I have read that they did a survey with 700 women half of them at the recommended amount of dairy and the other half didn't. They had the same calories everyday. The group that ate the calcium lost weight, when the group that didn't actually gained weight. If you don't like dairy then you can take calcium supplements with vitamin D. You need 1000 iu of calcium a day. So, dairy is one of those five foods you need in your diet everyday. And infact the other four are good for losing weight to. They are Dark leafy green veggies and lots of veggies, fruits, Handfull of seeds or nuts, Whole grains, and green tea or black tea. The diet ive been on Ive lost 8 pounds in 25 days. And I eat lots of dairy.

The only nutrient that you need to worry about is calcium. Protein (the other major contribution that dairy makes to your diet) is available in almost every food, and most western diets actually contain *too much*.

Two of the best sources of calcium are almonds and sesame. You can eat whole or ground almonds or sesame seeds (or use them in cooking), drink almond milk, or spread almond butter or techina on a cracker.

Most green leafy vegetables also contain calcium. However, some also contain oxalic acid, which interferes with the absorption of minerals. So if you eat spinach, it's the toilet that will be on a high-calcium diet. Unfortunately, too, there seems to be little agreement on which vegetables have oxalic acid and which ones don't–even among reliable sources of information. The only thing I can ascertain is that spinach is not a good dietary source of calcium and kale is.

you need to check ALL your cheeses especially the harder ones. also cream has gelatine and so does some ice creams. most thick and creamy things you need to look at the ingredients because they may contain gelatine. but rennet is usually only found in cheeses so just keep an eye out when you are buying them and make sure to check all you dairy packaging.

Milk has been pasteurised in Europe since 1862. It's pasteurised at a lower (acceptable in US also) temperature. The US pasteurises at a higher level, therefore leaving the milk with less taste than its European counterparts. Because the US uses the higher temperatures, they are unable to produce as many complex cheeses as there are in Europe and they have to be imported.

She can have any dairy product you want to give her. Try some organic yogurt and make a smoothie. My boys like berry banana.

Edit…pudding is full of sugar. Make a smoothie. Use whole milk organic plain yogurt, whole milk, banana, blueberry, and strawberry. Blend and serve. It is a yummy sweet because of the fruit. NO added sugar and great for a 12 month old.

"Last year, the average liter of milk in America contained only 323 million pus cells, according to Hoard's Dairyman, the dairy industry magazine…[from 2001. Yet later in the article,...] Stressed and infected cows have cell counts above 100 million." [1]

Every singing group I've been in has counseled singers not to consume dairy products for several hours before a performance. But actually, the casein in milk triggers histamines to produce mucus for 15hrs or so after ingestion. Plus, casein is a very common allergen, and most people don't realize it until they cut it out, and then re-introduce it to their diet.

There are loads of studies connecting milk to asthma, atherosclerosis, diabetes, leukemia, lung cancer, lymphoma, osteoporosis, ovarian cancer,…etc. I'm sure having those diseases brewing in your body can't help your vocal performance!

And whether you think of it as "bad karma" from the suffering of the dairy cows, or simply the fact that they are chock full of stress hormones, continually fighting off infections, and pumped full of other synthetic hormones, what is excreted in cow's milk is just not good for ya.

Many people now single out dairy cows and egg-laying hens as the animals that suffer the most before they are slaughtered. Check out http://www.kinshipcircle.org/fact_sheets/FactsAboutDairyVealIndustr.pdf
